United Downs Deep Geothermal Power Project:
- Location: Near Redruth, Cornwall.
- Initiative: Led by Geothermal Engineering Ltd (GEL), this project involves drilling deep wells to tap into the hot granite rock beneath.
- Depth: Wells are drilled to a depth of around 4.5 kilometers.
- Goal: To generate electricity and heat from the geothermal resources, with an expected output of around 3 MW of electricity and 10 MW of thermal energy.
